YC Interviews in Israel

by Y Combinator7/23/2019

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be holding interviews for the Winter 2020 batch in Tel Aviv for founders based in Israel. These interviews will take place on September 10 and 11.

We’ve been funding Israeli startups for a long time, and this time we thought it would be easier if we went right to the source.

These interviews will be just like regular YC interviews. There is no difference in the application or in our criteria for acceptance. If accepted, you’ll join the YC Winter 2020 batch. The in-person program starts in January in Mountain View, California, but you’ll have access to YC partners and resources right away.

The deadline to apply to interview with us in Tel Aviv is Wednesday, August 14 at 8pm IST. We’ll let you know if you’re invited to interview by August 30.

Apply here.

We look forward to meeting you soon! If you have any questions, send us an email at apply@ycombinator.com.

Q: Can I apply to meet you in Tel Aviv even if I don’t live in the city?
A: Yes. If you live anywhere in Israel, we strongly encourage you to apply.

Q: What does it mean if I don’t hear from you by August 30?
A: If you don’t hear from us, it’s because your application is still under review. We’ll consider it for interviews in Mountain View, California.

Q: Do I have to re-apply for the Tel Aviv interviews if I submitted an application before you announced them?
A: No. We’ll consider any application submitted by August 14 for the Tel Aviv interviews.

Q: How do I let you know that my application is for Tel Aviv interviews?
A: No need to indicate. Just apply and we’ll let you know. You don’t need to live in Tel Aviv.

Q: Are travel expenses covered for the interviews?
A: Yes, local travel expenses to and from Tel Aviv will be reimbursed if you live in Israel. We’ll help you cover the cost of intercity ground transportation. You will need to submit your travel expense reimbursement claim after the interview. All travel related questions should be directed to travel@ycombinator.com.

Q: Can I apply after August 14?
A: Yes. But if you do, we will not be able to meet you in Tel Aviv. We’ll consider your application for interviews in Mountain View, California.

Q: Do I need to be incorporated as a US Delaware-C corp to apply?
A: No. We’ll interview any type of company even if you haven’t incorporated yet.

Q: Are you considering conducting interviews in cities besides Tel Aviv?
A: Yes. You can check our blog for updates: https://blog.ycombinator.com
