About the role
Adam Residency
This 10-week, full time program, based in our San Francisco office, offers recent graduates and early career professionals a chance to gain meaningful experience at a fast growing AI startup.
Residents at Adam have the same autonomy as full time engineers and researchers. You'll have significant ownership and responsibility from day one, with your impact limited only by your initiative and ambition.
We're a small, collaborative team that values curiosity, multidisciplinary thinking and shipping high quality products quickly.

You enjoy building great technology alongside passionate teammates. You thrive when given ownership, responsibility and open-ended problems. You’re excited by the idea of having practically endless compute to experiment this summer.
Some Potential Summer Projects:
• Prototype a token‑level B‑rep + feature generator with structured function calls think “extrude”, “fillet”, etc. emitted as tokens.
• Ship an open CAD benchmark plus an auto‑eval harness that scores generative accuracy (feature‑tree match, geometric overlap, constraint solvability) and autoupdates a leaderboard
• Fine-tune image to 3d mesh models for bespoke items (i.e footwear)
About the interview
If it looks like a match, we'll reach out to schedule personal and technical interviews. The final step is a paid onsite work trial, where you'll spend time collaborating closely with our team.
About Adam
Adam is an applied research and product lab building the future of computer-aided design, where engineers will be able to speak physical objects into existence. With Adam, you’ll use AI to complete design tasks end-to-end. For example, select a face and say, “Add mounting holes matching the bolt pattern from the other part, with identical diameters, spacing, and offsets,” and Adam handles the geometry, selects standard hardware, and outputs production-ready drawings.
We just wrapped up YC’s W25 batch, built a state-of-the-art text-to-CAD interface, and had one of the most viral YC launches of all time.
Our first product made CAD approachable and fun with AI, bringing tens of thousands of people into 3D printing. Now we’re enhancing the capabilities of engineers to create feature-rich models compatible with industry-standard software.
We’re a small technical team of engineers, designers, and researchers who love CAD and building things. Our founders are UC Berkeley alumni, second-time founders, and early employees at major AI startups.
We're in-person in the heart of SF, powered by green tea, dried mangoes, and a wall of 3D printers.
