About the role

Aerotime is building a beautiful, fast, and goal-driven calendar that enables humans to be effective and not just busy. Read more on Aerotime's vision in the "why join" section.

As we continue to own more and more calendar components, we're expanding our engineering team to support more complex use cases of a calendar. You'll be dealing with the complexities of keeping every action under 100ms, distributed systems, designing something from the ground up to help humans achieve productivity goals like never before, yet, keeping the product exceptionally intuitive and straightforward. We deal with optimization problems every day. For example: recommending perfect slots for placing tasks and meetings where the propensity to act on them is highest and causes least time fragmentation - what all dimensions will you look at?

If you join us, you'll be a founding team member who helps define:

  1. Future company culture and principles
  2. Engineering practices
  3. People to hire
  4. The direction & focus of Aerotime's products

You are:

  1. Product Driven: You think backward from user experience and have a sense of building delightful products. You love listening to customer problems and building for them.
  2. Tinkerer: You enjoy building products for the end goal of what's getting shipped, and hence are comfortable moving across the stack when necessary. You love problem-solving and enjoy figuring out solutions to challenging problems. Our projects are large with open-ended scope.
  3. Depth-first: You love breaking down a problem into smaller pieces and perfecting out smaller machines to ensure the larger ecosystem runs smoothly. You're opinionated and have high conviction, making you go all-in and generate an increased sense of accountability.
  4. Team player: You appreciate documentation and collaborate via product reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
  5. Ethical: Principally, uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.

About the interview

Aerotime has two options for front end interviews, you have an option to select your path.

Option 1: 1 project + 1 technical round + 1 product/culture round

Option 2:  3 technical rounds + 1 product/culture round

In option one, the technical round will be taken after the project is done, the technical round will breakdown your project work and ask questions related to it.

In option two, rounds will cater to hands on programming, front-end design and architecture, and DSA.

Product/Culture round: This will be your final round. We will talk about your approach to building products.

Why you should join Aerotime

Aerotime is reinventing calendar to make humans be effective, not busy.

A modern calendar that helps people prioritize their work by goal setting, time blocking and reducing fragmentation created by randomly placed meeting and distracting Slack messages.

Aerotime helps you create key goals for the week, helps you break it down into tasks and meetings, streamline calendar to support and align your team around it. This leads to people being effective and not busy.

Hard problems we are solving:

  1. Spaced out meetings causing a lot of fragmentation and hence wasted time. Ever heard people say "real work starts after 5 pm?"
  2. People attending meetings that are not effective for them, mostly because of FOMO. How can we reduce the number of meetings, but let the information travel to all relevant stakeholders?
  3. Realizing your key goals and aligning your time to support it. This is way harder than it sounds. Most people are aware of what gives them joy and what they want to achieve - but most people end up not achieving it. Answer lies in building the right systems and aligning your calendar to it.

Individuals and teams trust Aerotime to help them find flow and run at their peak efficiency, prioritizing work that is important and makes them happy!

We're a design and engineering driven team with experience at LinkedIn and Amazon.
