Engineering Manager (Budapest office - onsite)

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing Fintech startup building an API infrastructure for stock trading. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our team in the Budapest office to execute the ambitious plan. The Budapest office does and will hold the majority of engineers in the company and the success of this role will have a huge impact to the company’s goal.

Responsibilities:  

• Report to VP of Engineering in a different time zone

• Plan and execute it to deliver engineering solutions

• Manage engineers day-to-day, such as running one-on-ones and staff meetings

• Coordinate technical discussions inside and outside the team and company

• Work closely with technology leaders within and outside of local organization

• Manage technology vendors and costs

• Be in charge of engineering staffing in the team

Technology stack:

• Language: GoLang, NodeJS, Python

• Middleware: PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis

• Platform: GKE, GCP, physical data center

Required Qualifications And Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field

• 3 years of experience in a engineering management in a startup company

• Communication skills to lead the technology discussions

• Business skills to understand the cost management and to negotiate various deals

• Writing skills to communicate efficiently across the team

• Basic understanding of technology to work with technology leaders
