About the role

Alpaca is a fast-growing fintech API startup backed by a group of prominent investors including Spark, Portage, Social Leverage, Tribe, Horizons, Eldridge, Positive Sum, Elefund, and Y Combinator, and highly experienced industry angel investors. Alpaca has raised a total of $72 million to date.

Alpaca builds a developer API that allows apps and developers globally to launch commission-free stock trading apps. Our platform also offers a developer-friendly community and platform for traders to programmatically trade stocks with ease. Of course, we are very enthusiastic about open source contribution and community building!

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team in winning key, high impact customers through strategy, training, collateral, market research, and general sales support.

  • Conduct market research and assist in adjusting sales and business strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions, and keep key business leadership and stakeholders informed.

  • Provide internal support for RFIs / RFPs, and generally facilitate knowledge sharing between the sales team and post-sales/operations teams.

  • Develop, document, and help implement comprehensive plans and programs for sales and integrations to support sales and revenue objectives of the company.

  • Assist in defining and documenting different customer segments and value propositions for each segment, and developing sales strategy for winning each segment.

  • Develop templates, materials, and collateral for use throughout the sales life cycle for different customer segments.

  • Maintain a database of insights from won and lost deals to better understand buying behavior and sales life cycles, and develop and document ways to improve messaging and sales processes accordingly.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Industry experience or strong interest in the FinTech landscape and investing.

  • Constantly learning and studying.

  • Ability to distill and synthesize complexity into simple frameworks.

  • Analytical mindset combined with intuition for the needs of the customer.

  • Ability to build narrative and storytell in a clear and compelling way that wins deals

  • Strong whiteboard / diagramming skills, and prolific with content creation.

  • Design skills, especially around collateral and slide decks.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and meet time sensitive deadlines.

  • Teamwork, good communication, and internal partnership skills are a must.

  • Ability to establish trust and credibility.

  • Must be coachable.

  • Startup mindset.

  • Series 7 within 3 months of hire.
