Role Brief -
We are seeking a seasoned Manager of Software Engineering (Backend/Fullstack) to lead our development team, ensuring timely and high-quality product/solution delivery while driving innovation. This role combines technical leadership with efficient project execution, team management, and cross-functional collaboration, directly supporting the stakeholder’s vision and company goals.

What will you do?

  1. Delivery and Execution:
  • On-time Delivery & Success Rate: Ensure projects meet deadlines with high standards for code quality & performance and security.
  • Project Execution: Implement the stakeholder’s vision by converting requirements into actionable plans and efficiently using resources.
  • Milestones & Deliverables: Monitor milestones and deliverables, providing regular updates to the stakeholders and proactively addressing risks.
  • Risk Management: Keep projects on track by addressing potential delays and challenges.
  • Bug Rates & Code Quality: Implement rigorous testing protocols and regular code reviews to minimize bugs and maintain high standards.
  • Deployment Frequency: Establish and maintain CI/CD practices for frequent and reliable releases.
  1. Resource Management:
  • Budget Adherence & Allocation: Efficiently manage project budgets and allocate resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Resource Utilization: Optimize the use of tools, time, and personnel to meet project goals.
  • Velocity & Cycle Time: Optimize sprint planning and retrospectives to improve development velocity and cycle time, ensuring efficient task completion.
  • Throughput & Burndown: Manage task prioritization and monitor progress with burndown charts to maintain consistent throughput.

  • Talent Acquisition & Team Integration: Actively participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members to build a strong, cohesive, and capable engineering team.

  • New Initiatives & Process Enhancements: Drive new initiatives and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly refine processes based on feedback and performance metrics.

What do you bring to the table?

  1. Strong technical credentials with at least 9+ years of experience in backend/full stack engineering and 3+ years of proven experience managing software development teams.
  2. B.Tech/or M.Tech Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  3. Detailed working knowledge and experience in delivering using the Agile process.
  4. Passionate with the architectural design of large-scale, Design Patterns & SOLID principles, highly reliable, and highly available, especially around Microservices/API integrations, and integrations with 3rd party systems.
  5. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex technical issues.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. A passion for value creation and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

About the interview

Round 1 - TA Screening Round (Duration - 45 mins) : You will be having a short discussion with our hiring team on the lines of your current and previous org roles and responsibilities. Your contributions in the current projects. A brief chat about your career path and open discussion around Anakin's goals and milestones for the next one year, tech function and compensation details.
Round 2 - Technical Discussion with Seniors (Duration - 1 hour) : Your first technical discussion will be set up with the team focusing on your coding & problem solving skills. You will also be asked to solve a complex coding problems in your preferred tech stack.

Round 3 - Technical Discussion with CTO (Duration - 1 hour) : Your conversation will be scheduled with CTO who will delve into your projects and will test your System Design skills.

Round 4 - Hiring Manager Discussion (Duration - 1 hour)
: You will be having another round of discussion with our CTO on the lines of your people management skills, general aptitude & your expectations from the role.

Round 5 - Team Fitment Round (Duration - 2 hours) : You will meet with a founding team member to learn about our team's culture. During this meeting, you will discuss your past experiences to help us understand your preferences for team collaboration.

Round 6 - Final Round of discussion with CEO (Duration - 1 hour) -You will meet our Founder & CEO to disucss the company’s vision and mission. He will also initiate offer discussions.

Please note : This is our standard interview process; however, additional rounds may be added if necessary.

Anakin is building a fully automated pricing engine for large eCommerce companies such as Flipkart, Walmart, and Uber. We help companies like Uber and Flipkart increase their revenue by upto 12% by optimizing the pricing, products and trends data of their competitors.
