Aqua is a digital investment platform helping financial advisors gain access to an exclusive and curated selection of top-performing alternative assets. Aqua simplifies and digitizes all aspects of back-office work normally associated with investing in alternatives including subscription, KYC/AML, capital calls, distributions, K1 issuance, and performance reporting. We pride ourselves on providing a white-glove, service-first approach, always putting our clients first.
We’re a passionate, growing team backed by Gradient Ventures, Google’s AI-focused venture fund, Soma Capital, Global Founders Capital, Hack VC, 305 Ventures, and rockstar angel investors from companies like Google, Amazon, Kirkland & Ellis, CVC Partners, and Blackrock. Our team has work experience from places like Blackstone, Bank of America, Blackrock, Siris Capital, Guggenheim Partners, BNY Mellon Pershing, and SS&C Black Diamond. We’re aiming to onboard the next $10T of HNW dollars into alternatives, and we’re excited to welcome someone to the team who can help us achieve that vision.

You will play a key role in the decision-making process alongside the founders and have ownership over critical parts of the product.

We’re looking for an engineer with a strong product sense to help us build amazing products for our users.
What you will do?
- Work closely with co-founder and CTO Dev to help define engineering culture/processes, guide product vision, and make engineering decisions/evaluate tradeoffs
- Continually iterate on product and ship new features driven by both product roadmap and user feedback
- Build out integrations with payment processors, document signing services, banking services, etc.
- Scale our backend infrastructure as our user base grows
For this role we’re looking for someone who:

Has 3+ years professional experience building & shipping full-stack responsive web applications (excluding internships)

Experience coding in javascript and python, using frameworks like ReactJS and Django, working with PostgreSQL, and deploying applications using AWS

Moves fast and ships code quickly

Has some system design experience

Has a strong sense of ownership around building a product users want

Values teamwork and collaboration
Nice to haves:
- Experience working with FinTech products
- UX experience
- Experience working in a startup environment
