About Ashby

We’re building the next generation of enterprise software and we’re starting with a suite of products that help talent leaders, recruiters, and hiring managers run their hiring process significantly better (we haven’t shared much publicly about what we’re building yet, but we’ll be more specific once we meet).

We are well funded and backed by great investors, including Y Combinator, Elad Gil and Lachy Groom. We have not launched publicly yet, but we're already working with amazing companies, such as Opendoor, Plaid, Airtable, Snyk, Benchling and SalesLoft (and many others which we cannot name yet) - it's a great time to join 🚀

About this Role

As our first People hire you will partner closely with Benji (our CEO) and our leadership team to create a world-class work environment. We care deeply about our culture and we have written publicly about some aspects of it. We want you to help us evolve that thoughtful culture as we grow.

We are looking for you to help in a few main areas:

  • Building systems to deliver an excellent employee experience at scale. We care a lot about operationalizing how we work. You'll get time and money to invest in tools to make sure we're building processes that can scale (on-boarding, ongoing training, etc.).

  • Help keep our remote-first team highly engaged as we grow (we do a good job today, it gets harder at scale). A good portion of this will be ensuring excellent internal communication. But we're also looking for someone who can be creative around events (e.g. mixing remote with in-person meetups), can think about what on-boarding should look like in a remote environment, etc.

  • Help shape our philosophy on compensation, management style, career growth, etc. We generally like to think for ourselves. We're not looking for someone to implement a well known playbook.

There are a ton of other things to do. Ranging from paperwork and compliance to expanding our employee brand - but the above are the most important priorities in the next year or so.
