Lead Full Stack Developer - Bountiful
About the role
Bountiful is looking for a lead full-stack developer for our web app and tools. You’ll join our existing team of two developers and help build the foundation for a larger team working directly with our Head of Product.
About Bountiful
Bountiful is a data analytics platform and ESG marketplace that connects the gray market crop value chain from farmer to buyer. Our goal is to modernize and bring transparency to gray market crops like almonds, grapes, and walnuts. Impacting why and how the value chain farms, markets, and buys these crops.
Some of the key data sets that power our data analytics platform include: satellite imagery, weather, geographical, and historical data sets. Using a data-agnostic approach, we leverage private and public data sets in conjunction with the latest machine learning techniques to provide yield forecasting, market, and sentiment intelligence to farmers, agribusiness, agriculture investment groups, and CPG companies. We’re an agile team whose goal is to use the latest analytical methods, incubate new technologies and drive innovative ways to develop new opportunities making a significant and lasting impact in the specialty / gray market crop value chain.
Your Role
Lead all software development for our tools. Some main tasks but not limited to:
- Maintain existing codebase, databases, infrastructure, CI tools
- Lead planned upgrades to main app and infrastructure
- Lead and delegate tasks to other software developers
- Lead software meetings
- Document software
- Contribute to the product roadmap and help dictate future technology and infrastructure tools
- Report directly to Head of Product and CEO
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer science or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- 3-5 years of relevant software experience, particularly at a startup
- Excellent communicator
- Self-starter and self-motivator; strengths in strategic thinking and executing.
- Creative mind
- Excels well under pressure

- Founders' mentality and understanding of what drives our business
- Can frame the product from the point of view of users
- Ability to learn new skills quickly
- Experience with Scrum/Agile framework, specifically working with Jira
