Staff Analytics Engineer

If this sounds like you, here’s what you’ll do: As the first analytics engineer at Cambly, you’ll be defining the discipline and influencing how data is produced and consumed at Cambly. You’ll be partnering with the engineering team to make sure the right data is exported to our data warehouse. You’ll also be responsible for working closely with our Economics, Product Analytics, and Finance teams to deeply understand their goals. You’ll be building a roadmap to create robust data models using DBT used to inform critical decision-making across the company. Your work will directly contribute to our understanding of user behavior and marketplace dynamics to help inform strategic and operational decisions.

-8 years or more experience working with data as a software engineer, data engineer, data scientist or analyst. -Strong engineering foundations with experience defining data models, building data pipelines, and writing maintainable and testable code. -Excellent SQL skills and experience using Python for analysis. -Experience maintaining BigQuery or other data warehouses and addressing scaling challenges and costs as teams and data sets grow. -Excellent technical communication skills and are excited to use them to collaborate with engineers, analysts, and economists to solve complex problems. -A track record of using input from stakeholders to inform a strong point of view on the right way to surface data to the organization. -Experience using tools like DBT to build well documented and trusted data products that teams can rely on for high stakes analysis. -A passion for learning. You fearlessly dive into new and unfamiliar technologies.

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Compensation Package $160,000-$220,000 USD Base Salary + Pre-IPO Stock Options
