Sr. Analyst, Business Insights & Operations

We are seeking a highly quantitative, intellectually curious analyst for our growing Business Insights and Operations Team. “Optimizing for Impact” is a core value that drives company-wide decision making, and we’re seeking a highly motivated analyst to help build a data and insights engine that further empower teams to make optimal business decisions.

The Business Insights and Operations team is responsible for defining company-wide metrics, assessing performance trends and identifying growth opportunities. In this role, you will support a wide range of data and analysis needs in partnership with our product, growth and operations teams. You should be naturally data curious, highly adept with SQL, experienced in improving the availability and usability of data, and excited about creating sustainable infrastructure that drives better decision-making.

To succeed in this role, you’ll operate with an ownership mindset and be quite nimble to evolve our data and analytics frameworks in-line with our rapidly growing business! Ideal candidates enjoy cracking puzzles, building from scratch, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This is a high visibility role that will report to our CFO who leads Accounting/Tax, FP&A, Business Insights & Operations as well as the Tutoring side of our marketplace.

Some Challenges You'll Tackle:

• Build and maintain a connected ecosystem of metrics/KPIs, reporting and trend analysis for company-wide weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews
• Partner with leaders across our product, growth and operations teams to define metrics/KPIs for their initiatives
• Partner tightly with engineering to ensure we’re collecting data to evaluate business performance and proactively identify growth opportunities
• Build and maintain a ‘Source of Truth’ for business-wide metrics
• Champion data, reporting and analysis across the company, using the highest standards of analytical rigor, data integrity and design-minded principles

You Should Have:

• 3-5 years in an analytic role, preferably at a high-growth tech company
• Deep interest and curiosity for scrutinizing business trends, uncovering ‘data nuggets’ and synthesizing those insights into actionable initiatives
• High proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
• Strong familiarity with data warehouse environments (e.g., Presto, BigQuery) and Analytics tools (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Iterable, etc)
• Excellent communication skills; with the ability to easily navigate conversations with both business and technical/engineering teams
• Highest comfort with ambiguity; with the ability to thrive with minimal oversight and process, while proactively keeping the team informed of progress against timelines/goals
• Ability to balance attention to detail and accuracy with expeditious execution in a fast paced environment
