About the role

Chorus is online group meditation classes led by live instructors and set to the beat of familiar music.

Chorus is funded by Y Combinator, Justin Kan and Robin Chan (Goat Capital) and Charles Hudson (Precursor).

The team is Ali (CEO), former business leader at Twilio and investor at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund, MK (Chief of Experience & Community), Stanford undergraduate and top SoulCycle instructor in the world, Warren (CTO), former Director of Engineering at Evite and Clique Brands, and Alex (Head of Operations), former Manager at Apple Wellness.

Traditional meditation is challenging for many people because it takes months to feel a difference and can be lonely - enter Chorus, where we’ve applied the same principles as SoulCycle for the mind, to make meditation social, and give customers a physical sensation in their first class.

Our mission is to bring the life-changing benefits of meditation to more people. The Director of Growth will be at the forefront of this mission, tackling one of the hardest challenges in wellness: getting people to prioritize a healthier lifestyle. This is where you come in.

You will own not only digital marketing campaigns, but also impact product roadmap and have engineering resources at your disposal to drive key metrics. Your work will have an immediate and tangible impact on the business and the lives of the people we serve.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Director of Growth is data-driven and results-focused. We are seeking a talented professional who thrives at the intersection of product analytics, data science, product design, and growth marketing.

The ideal candidate:

  • will have a strong technical, analytical, and product background – with a hunger to optimize product funnels and make products grow
  • is excited about developing and testing hypotheses to achieve that growth

You’ll have access to multiple data sources including consumer behavior analytics, user research, and experiment performance to maximize the conversion rate, retention rate, and customer lifetime value.

You will build and drive efficiency and effectiveness of the customer funnel by setting the product roadmap and through constant testing. You have hands-on experience developing, planning, launching, and analyzing customer acquisition and retention campaigns. Performance marketing should feel like second nature for you - aka CAC, LTV, AOV, churn, conversion rate, abandoned cart rates, etc. are basically your best friends.

You are obsessed with analytics and very strong at financial modelling. You can’t wait to spend your afternoon figuring out how to drive down CAC, increase LTV, analyze cohorts and dive deep into data to make impactful decisions.

You will own not only digital marketing campaigns, but also impact product roadmap and have engineering resources at your disposal to drive key metrics.

You will work directly with the CEO/Founder and CTO/Founder, as well as other members of product, engineering, and design to rapidly execute and iterate. Chorus moves very quickly, and you’ll be exposed to new challenges on a daily basis.

Alongside all the fun aspects of working at a YC-backed, cutting-edge startup, you will be given autonomy to test new ideas, continuous learning opportunities.

This position is full-time, working directly with the CEO and CTO, and is flexible for remote work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience with doing quantitative analysis, manipulating data sets, A/B testing, product optimization or growth best practices
  • Experience working collaboratively with product management, engineering, design, data science, data engineering, etc
  • Experience with acquisition KPIs and product optimization work i.e. funnel/website optimization and/or outbound communication channels like email or push notifications
  • An optimization mindset; strong product sense, and deeply analytical
  • A proactive team player
  • Ability to work with very minimal, no direction (excludes collaborating with product end engineering to execute)

  • Experience in SQL
  • Basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript knowledge to build and launch simple web experiments

A couple more things

Our customers love us because we are friendly, passionate, and always willing to go the extra mile. They are continuously impressed (even surprised) at the high-quality and personal nature of our experience, customer service and overall dedication to ensuring they have the best experience possible. We are deeply about helping others and are very proud of the product and market we’ve carved out as a small team. We are looking for someone to match, and elevate (!!) our passion and hard work to the next level during this very exciting time for our company.
