Lead Design at Fizz

At Fizz we are looking for talented designers to help us improve our mobile app which is the key touchpoint for our users to manage their Fizz card. We are also constantly improving our website which hosts educational content and other company information. Your day-to-day work will consist of designing and delivering interfaces, managing our website, and getting to know our users.

Tl;dr

This role for someone who wants agency in their work and is looking to make that next step to a smaller team with leaders who understand the value of design, and want to do the best, most impactful work of their career.

This role will involve

Directing product decisions: Your insights and design expertise will guide the trajectory of our product development.
Fast-paced creation and development: Your designs won't sit on the drawing board. You'll quickly see them come to life on our platforms.
Building engaging experiences and interfaces: You'll be key to creating user-friendly and visually pleasing interfaces that engage and delight our users.
Utilizing Figma: You'll harness the power of Figma to achieve our design goals.
Collaborating with a design-centric team: You'll work in a team where design is not just appreciated—it's central to what we do.

To thrive in this role you have

1.5+ years of fintech experience: You've proven your design skills in this space.
A macro-to-micro mindset: You're comfortable thinking about the big picture and the smallest details.
Resilience and adaptability: You thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
Clear and concise communication: You can effectively communicate your design ideas and take feedback well.
Pixel-perfect attention to detail: You won’t let any minor inconsistencies slip through.
Some engineering experience: You can speak the language of our developers.

What is Fizz?

Fizz is the debit card for college students that helps build credit. There are no fees, no security deposits, no interest rates, and nothing to be afraid of. We want to be the financial ally of young adults, so we're also building a network of personal finance resources to help students become financially free.

How does it work?

Fizz connects to a user's existing bank account so that they can't spend more than they have. We extend a daily line of credit and Autopay pays off all of the user's cleared transactions at the end of each day from their connected bank account - you can think of it like a credit card that is automatically paid off every day. At the end of the month, users' payment data is reported to the credit bureaus, helping build their score. It functions just like a debit card and is completely free to use. It's that simple.
