We are proud to be a Y Combinator company, and we're looking for a talented marketing professional to join our growing team.

Role Overview:

As the first Marketing Specialist at Fleetzero, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our marketing strategy and driving our brand's growth. You will be responsible for creating compelling marketing materials, engaging presentations, and managing our online presence. Your primary goal will be to attract major retailers and national brands to ship cargo on our growing fleet of ships.


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to raise brand awareness and drive customer acquisition
  • Create and maintain high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and case studies
  • Manage and update the Fleetzero website to ensure it accurately reflects our brand and value proposition
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create persuasive and engaging sales collateral
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our target customer base, industry trends, and competitive landscape
  • Represent Fleetzero at industry events and conferences
  • Manage relationships with external marketing vendors and partners as needed
  • Track, analyze, and report on marketing campaign performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive content
  • Strong graphic design and presentation skills, with experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in web design and content management systems (e.g., Squarespace, etc)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations

About Fleetzero

Fleetzero is building a fleet of electric ships that deliver cargo at half the cost of fossil fuels. We operate our ships with a battery swapping system based on battery packs designed into shipping containers. The company is founded by experienced marine engineers Mike Carter and Steven Henderson and powered by a team from Tesla, Shell, US Navy, and the US Coast Guard.
