About the role

Flow Club is a virtual co-working space where people work in high-intensity sprints designed to double their productivity.

We envision a world where...

  • anyone can access deep, focused flow anytime, anywhere
  • working independently or remotely doesn’t have to feel like you're on your own

Our mission is to build the software that powers the most inspiring and productive work environment for knowledge workers.

Our members love Flow Club. We’re growing quickly, just presented at Y Combinator's Summer 2021 Demo Day, raised $5M, and hiring our founding team.

We are backed by Worklife Ventures, a firm investing in companies re-designing the way work gets done in the future, and 100 more of the world's best investors and operators. Among our investors are Paul Graham and the founders of iconic companies like Dropbox, Mercury, Quora, Outschool, and Sendbird.

Finally, we are inspired by our members and hosts who we see everyday working out of Flow Club building the most incredible things. They remind us great things are built incrementally, one step at a time.

We are looking for Member & Host Experience Lead. You don't have to have had a similar job title in the past. We are looking for an all-around generalist who is a quick study, unafraid to fail, and is biased towards action.

What you'll work on:

  • Coordinating with hosts to provide co-working opportunities to our members every week, and improve the workflow.

  • Onboard hundreds of new hosts and members and create standard operating procedure and quality controls to ensure a good experience every time.

  • Develop a strong understanding of what members and hosts are looking for, organize and represent the feedback to the team, and do whatever's necessary to improve their experience.

  • Write regular newsletters to the community, manage social media, and talk 1:1 with members of our community.

  • Craft great experiences for our members from first impression to power user. We have members who have spent over 300 hours in Flow Club in just a few months.

  • Investigate and create opportunities to help members who are dormant.

  • Foster a strong sense of in-group identification. Members should feel part of a community with high level of affinity and respect towards each other.

  • Regularly and systematically create opportunities to invigorate the community through content, events, etc.

  • Build the machine and processes to allow you to do everything better with scale.

This role may be a great fit if…

  • You are a people person, IRL (one-to-one)
  • You are a people person, online (one-to-many)
  • You love to plan events and group trips and think about the needs of each stakeholder
  • You love exploring the topics of work, productivity, and community
  • You are organized, detail-oriented and know how to ruthlessly prioritize
  • You think of yourself as a content creator
  • You like taking vague problems, better-defining them, and executing to solve them

You might have...

  • Built and run a community before
  • Created content regularly
  • Managed a large staff
  • Taught a fitness, yoga or meditation class

Why you should work with us:

  • Competitive salary and generous equity
  • Join learn from an experienced team of 3x founders
  • You will gain valuable experience for starting your own company one day
  • You'll meet lots of great founders, builders, and investors in Flow Club and through our network.

We’re looking for...

  • High levels of self-awareness, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
  • Deep curiosity, relentless resourcefulness, and a growth mindset.
  • Good at ruthless prioritization, organization, fast thinking, and confident execution.
  • Engaged in big picture thinking but values day-to-day execution.

Company Values

  • Clear and ego-free communication: Explain your thought processes, ideas, and tradeoffs as thoughtfully and precisely as possible. Seek and utilize guidance and feedback effectively. Speak out in pursuit of intellectually honest discourse.
  • Member-centric solutions : We listen to all ideas— from our own team, from investors, friends, etc., but our members' voices are the most important. Try to refer back to specific members' requests and desires whenever possible.
  • Thoughtful tradeoffs: Be comfortable making tradeoffs— think 80/20 rule, but know that that doesn’t always mean trading code quality and maintainability for moving fast. Premature optimization might be the root of all evil 97% of the time, but knowing what comprises that 3% that’s going to cost us more time down the road if we don’t invest now is crucial.
  • Digging a level deeper: Members may describe a bevy of issues or frustrations, or the data we see might suggest that we should change something, but by asking more questions, we believe we might be able to uncover the underlying issue or address a root cause rather than the symptom.
  • Slope matters more than y-intercept : We all have to start somewhere, whether in terms of where a team member's skills in an area are today, or where our metrics are. But a faster rate of change will quickly eclipse a higher starting point.
