About the role

We are looking for a senior full stack engineer to join our small and growing team. This role is fully remote, but we do prefer candidates in US timezones so everyone has some overlapping work hours. You will be responsible for building and shipping features across the stack as well as engaging with the open source community and writing tests and documentation. We primarily work with Typescript, React (Next.js), Node (express), and MongoDB. We also build and maintain SDKs for many other languages so there's plenty of opportunity to write some Go/Python/etc. if you want :)

As an early employee, you will have immense impact on the product and business. You will be expected to learn quickly, contribute ideas, wear many hats, and help define our company culture and grow the team. We believe engineers are at their best when working on interesting and challenging problems in an area they are passionate about and we do everything we can to foster a diverse, supportive, and collaborative environment.

What you’ll do at GrowthBook:

  • Build, test, and ship high quality code to our open source projects
  • Contribute ideas and help shape our product roadmap
  • Engage with the open source community and write documentation/tutorials
  • Collaborate with designers to build delightful user experiences
  • Help shape the company culture and participate in the hiring process for new engineers

  • 3+ years of experience developing production software, and at least 1 year with React/Typescript
  • You have built a project from scratch that you're proud of, whether as part of your day job or on the side
  • You value readability above all else when it comes to code
  • You understand when it's OK to take shortcuts and when you should invest more time in a problem
  • Bonus: Open source or early start-up experience
  • Bonus: Familiarity with feature flagging or A/B testing

  • Competitive salary and employee-friendly equity in an early-stage fast-growing startup
  • Unlimited PTO (that we actually encourage you to use)
  • Top-of-the-line insurance (US only): medical, dental, vision, mental health, and more
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Generous work-from-home stipend and IT budget
  • Remote-first company with regular off-sites in exciting locations

GrowthBook is an equal opportunity employer, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all employees.

We regret that we cannot sponsor employment visas at this time, although we can make exceptions for H1B transfers.

    • Feel free to use Google or Stack Overflow as needed (it's an important skill to have!)
  3. 30 minute behavioral/values interview
    • Questions like "Tell us about a time you had a disagreement at work and how you dealt with it"
  4. Offer!

Why you should join GrowthBook

GrowthBook is an open source feature flagging and A/B testing platform that transforms the way companies release and measure the impact of what they build. GrowthBook is deeply embedded in our customer's engineering, data, and product teams. Engineers use our SDKs to wrap new features in conditional checks. Data Scientists integrate GrowthBook into their company's data and analytics infrastructure. PMs run experiments and control the rollout of features to users, without needing to bother engineering or data teams.

The top 1% of companies spend thousands of hours building platforms just like GrowthBook in-house. Our goal is to level the playing field and enable everyone to have access to best-of-class feature and experimentation tools.

Since we launched in May 2021, our GitHub repo has been starred over 2,900 times and GrowthBook is now used in production at scale by hundreds of companies. We believe strongly in open source and product-led growth, and we're focused on building something awesome that our users love.

GrowthBook is backed by top investors, including Y Combinator and Nexus Venture Partners. We're growing fast, using a modern tech stack (Next.js + Typescript + Node), and solving hard problems. Come join us!
