Full-Stack Software Engineer

About Us

At Hellometer we optimize customer experience in restaurants using computer vision. Our current offering uses IoT enabled cameras with views of restaurant lobbies and drive throughs to determine customer service times. This information is critical to improving customer experiences, restaurant throughput and bottomline revenue. We work with many of the world’s best restaurant brands and are growing fast. We are looking for great engineers to take our product to the next level.

About You

This role has a front-end focus but will require you to wear many hats. Most of your time will be spent designing, building and improving our front end UI or back-end, API, and cloud infrastructure as well as the underlying some customer facing components, like our web app, in-store dashboards, etc. You should strive to get familiar with most areas of our technology stack and be driven to learn new skills. You will lead much of the development of the product and should be comfortable defining the structure of projects and new features. You’ll be getting in on the ground floor and will be able to shape your roll as we grow.

• 3+ years of experience building products end to end
• 2+ years experience with Python
• Experience with Flask
• Experience with React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• DevOps Experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Google Cloud Build)
• Experience creating APIs from scratch
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Docker
• Experience deploying products on GCP or AWS

Bonus: Interest or experience with data science, computer vision or machine learning. Bonus: Experience with video streaming / playback (FFMPEG, WebRTC) Bonus: Experience with Stripe or other payment processing platforms.

2. Phone Screen invitation - You will chat with our CEO, get introduced to the product, what we do, who our customers are and what we are looking for in an ideal candidate. We'll want to know about you and what motivates you.

3. Take Home - the largest part of the interview process, we will give you a take home that simulates the kinds of challenges we face on a daily basis. We care about how you code, we care about how you think.

4. 2nd interview - you will talk with our CTO who will have you go through your take-him in detail.
