About the role

Job description HireArt's Engineering team is looking for a talented, user-centric remote Full-stack Engineer to help architect and implement features in our Rails back-end and React front-end.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an internal role within HireArt and not with HireArt's client

Our tech stack includes Rails, React, GraphQL, some Redux, Postgres, Git, and Heroku.

What you'll do at HireArt: Each engineer has ownership over specific product verticals, and we enlist each other's help to get things shipped. We like to have thoughtful group discussions on a range of topics, from software architecture to company strategy. We make sure every voice is heard and every opinion is considered.

Requirements We're open to both fully remote employees based in North America as well as in-person work at our office in New York, NY.

Ideally you: Have 2+ years of professional programming experience Are comfortable in at least one modern Javascript front-end framework (ideally React) Are interested in the hiring process and are excited about improving it Are a strong communicator, both synchronously and asynchronously Are excited about being a part of (and fostering) an engineering culture that embraces collaborative exploration in the pursuit of robust, scalable solutions

Who we are: HireArt’s employment platform is the world’s first fully-featured HRIS for the contract W-2 workforce, allowing businesses to source, employ, and manage contract W-2 employees.

Users are the heart of our platform and top of mind for our engineering and product teams. Our goal is to make sure that all HireArt users -- our internal team, candidates, contract employees, and clients -- have a seamless experience and the right tools at their disposal.

Commitment: This is a regular, full-time (40 hours per week), W-2 position with HireArt and is open to United States- and Canada-based candidates who are authorized to work in either of those countries. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas.

HireArt values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, which is why we are interested in every qualified candidate, regardless of their background or how they identify.

HireArt offers a benefits package that includes: 100% employer covered insurance premiums Health, Dental, and Vision insurance for employee, spouse, and children Life and disability insurance Work-from-home stipends, including Workspace/home office set up Company supplied laptop of your choice (Mac or PC) Phone/Internet service Lunch/Snacks Unlimited PTO and paid holidays

Company description HireArt is building the first full-stack platform for businesses to source, employ, and manage contract W-2 employees. Our employment platform is the world’s first fully-featured HRIS for the contract W-2 workforce, a massive and growing segment of the labor market. We combine hiring and employment in a single platform, creating a magical experience for businesses: search, interview, make offers, and manage workers, all in one place. Once on board, HireArt provides contract workers with a caring home base that comes with all of the benefits & support associated with permanent employment.

Our goal is to enable businesses to focus on the people who make up their workforce, instead of the tools to manage it. That's why we've developed a transparent and simple to use end-to-end platform that provides contract work opportunities with the security and stability of traditional W-2 employment while still giving businesses the flexibility they need to scale their workforces.

About the interview

Interview Process: Round 1: Phone screen lasting 30 mins to 1 hour Round 2: Technical interview lasting 60 to 90 minutes Round 3 / Final: Technical interview lasting 60 to 90 minutes

Timing: The typical interview process takes a month from start to finish. This tends to be mostly based on our engineering team’s availability. That said, we have moved more quickly and look to accommodate candidates who might have a short timeline or competing offers. The more information you can share about your situation and where you are in the process, the more we can either attempt to expedite/match, or save you time if we cannot.

Why you should join HireArt

We are trying to solve one of the biggest problems in hiring: how to effectively measure a person's fit for a job. We want to do it in a way that is intuitive and transparent for both employers and job-seekers, and which scales to support organizations of any size. We believe that the right solution requires both algorithms and human judgment, and we are developing technologies which incorporate both. We believe that by building a product around new standards for assessment in recruiting, we can dramatically improve the accuracy of hiring decisions, as well as the job-seeking process.
