Founding Full Stack Engineer Lead

As a founding engineer team member, you have a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team where you can have an outsized impact on the healthcare journey of our members. You will work closely with the Hive leadership to shape and implement the product roadmap. By helping build Hive’s tech stack and implementing product features that enhance our health insurance platform offering, you will be part of a cross-functional team that scales our services to small and medium businesses who are the backbone of the Philippines economy.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver key product features for members, healthcare providers, and internal teams, working from ideation to implementation to rollout
• Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics and drive continuous improvement to the member experience and operational efficiencies
• Evaluate and identify improvements to the existing infrastructure to ensure scalability of our backend
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in growth, customer success, medical operations, finance to respond to evolving customer needs
• Support hiring efforts to build a high performing team to execute against product roadmap with growth opportunity to transition into engineering managerial role

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience (full-stack or backend)
• Work experience, open-source code, or coursework in two or more of the following languages (backend): C/C++, Java, C#, Python, Ruby, SQL
• Preference for experience with the any of the following languages (front-end): JavaScript (particularly React Native), HTML, CSS, Flutter
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services
• Experience working with unstructured or non-standardized data, building data pipelines and/or database management is preferred
• High attention to detail and excited to learn new skills and tools
• Ability to effectively use data to perform business analysis is a plus
• Curious, results-driven, ownership mentality with growth mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Collaborative team player with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for innovation in healthcare

Our interview process has 3 steps:

1) Initial Introduction Meeting

You will meet with a Hive Health team lead for an initial intro call. Purpose is for you to learn more about Hive and for us to understand your background and interest in joining our team.

2) Tech Screen

We'll share a technical assessment with the purpose of understanding your problem solving approach. More details will be shared during the interview process.

3) Behavioral interview

You will meet with the Hive Health cofounders to discuss your career goals, experiences, and fit for the role.
