About the role

Role Summary:

We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to be Hona's first design hire and establish our UX practice. You'll own the entire user experience - from research and information architecture to interface design and component libraries. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with rapid execution, bringing proven experience in user research and a passion for creating intuitive solutions in a fast-paced startup environment.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of professional UX/UI design experience, ideally in fast-paced environments
  • Experience conducting end-to-end user research including interviews, usability testing, and synthesis
  • Strong portfolio showing rapid ideation and iteration
  • Proficiency in Figma for design and prototyping
  • Experience building and maintaining design libraries and design systems from scratch
  • Proven ability to make pragmatic design decisions that balance speed and quality
  • Strong eye for visual design and attention to detail

Core Responsibilities:

  • Be Hona's first dedicated designer, bringing fresh perspective to the product
  • Execute designs for complex legal workflows and communication tools
  • Build and improve UI components within the existing design system
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on new features
  • Transform user feedback into concrete design improvements
  • Deliver high-quality designs that can be implemented quickly
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs for immediate implementation
  • Analyze user behavior data to identify opportunities for improvement
