Forward Deployed Engineer

Summary

This is a ground floor opportunity to join hotglue as an early team member and directly shape our trajectory. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be interfacing directly with our customers to onboard them onto hotglue, build features they need, and squash bugs that are getting in their way. While this is an engineering role, you will spend a large portion of your time talking to customers.

What You'll Do

• Get on calls with customers and sales prospects to teach them how to use hotglue
• Build new integrations and features in response to customer requests
• Become a deep expert in hotglue and our 300+ integrations, then translate that knowledge into docs, videos, and live demos for customers and prospects
• Scope new features based on customer feedback and collaborate with the engineering team to ship them
• Help build the foundation for how we work with customers as the company scales

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Comfortable with networking concepts like REST APIs, exponential backoffs, and OAuth
• Enjoys speaking with and helping customers, whether it be via written communication or calls
• Strong written communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts to engineers and non-engineers alike
• Ability to improvise and develop creative solutions when common approaches fail. Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism
• (Bonus) Proficiency in web development and NodeJS
