About the role

JITX is a way to design circuit boards faster, better, and with fewer errors.  Instead of manually drafting and reviewing one-off designs, write code to generate designs programmatically. Our AI-powered solvers handle the low-level details, and make your engineering work massively reusable. Our vision at JITX is to automate hardware design for the benefit of science and the welfare of humanity.  JITX is a team that is building next generation software to help companies design better electronics.  Dedicated to solving difficult problems with huge impact, our first step is to automate circuit board design. 

We are looking for a frontend developer with job responsibilities and background as follows:

  • Become the frontend expertise of the team. Expectation is about 90% frontend and 10% backend with backend work limited to bridging between the frontend and backend.
  • Ownership of the frontend features that include viewing circuit boards, visualizing components and boards in 3D , searching over components and design alternatives, etc.
  • Enhance user’s experience by implementing various features such as zooming, scrolling, displaying multi-sheet designs, as well as placing, moving, rotating, and routing between components etc.
  • Based in the Bay Area but open to hybrid schedule.
  • Minimum of 3 years of individual contributor work experience, above internships or co-op experience.
  • Tech Stack: JavaScript, React, Node.js, Typescript, and more.  Experience in Python, C++ or Java, a bonus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related fields (not mandatory).
  • Bonus Points: Having Hardware experience or knowledge or hobby projects, specifically in circuit boards, workflow, electronic components, CAD tools such as Altium, KiCad, etc.  Please include any relevant hobby projects or Github projects on your resume.


This role will need to be local within the California Bay Area. JITX will continue to be flexible in the Post- Covid Work Plan but this role will be asked to join certain team members on a hybrid basis in a San Jose Office or our Berkeley office. Remote option may also be available.
