About Us

Ladder Tx is a digitally native company operating at the intersection of machine learning, novel chemistry and RNA biology. We are creating an in-silico and in-vitro platform that enables the discovery of small molecule modulators of RNA.

The current toolkit for developing drugs is focused almost entirely on protein targets. However, 85% of the approximate 3 billion base pairs in the human genome encodes for RNA but not protein. Our platform enables a novel approach to understand RNA structure, function and binding sites in order to develop a new class of drugs. Targeting RNA in this way enables us to explore therapeutics for the many diseases with no known treatments.

The Role

The mission for this role is to lead the scientific and technical development of our LTX Chem AI platform, with significant impact and influence on the development of pipelines for hit-identification, chemical library design and hit-to-lead optimization programs.

We’re looking for someone keen on exploration at pace, who can apply cutting edge methods in cheminformatics and machine learning to our proprietary datasets, to accelerate our drug discovery programs.

About You

  • PhD in Chemistry (Medicinal, Cheminformatics, Computational)
  • 5+ years commercial experience in hit-to-lead program progression
  • Understanding of state of the art Cheminformatics toolkits and chemical representations, including their appropriate application and potential pitfalls
  • Experience running hit-to-lead optimization programs leveraging cheminformatics tools
  • Familiarity with machine learning methodology as applied to computational chemistry problems
  • Demonstrable skills in Python coupled with an appreciation of engineering best-practice
  • Prior experience with implementing in-silico compound screening, compound library design, virtual screening, and analysis, or multi-parametric optimization
  • Creative, problem-solving skills
  • Translation abilities - your curiosity allows you to work across domains
  • Desire to work in a small team, making an impact at pace

Bonus marks

  • Experience with graph-based chemical representations and/or generative chemistry algorithms is a plus
  • Familiarity with the biochemical and biophysical assays needed to run hit to lead programs
  • Peer-reviewed publications or commercial experience within the realm of cheminformatics methods, especially in their application to chemical library development and hit-to-lead/lead optimization programs
  • Experience working in a start-up
