Mission: amplify CEO’s impact

If you’re looking for a role where you stay high-level and don’t go into the nitty gritty of things, then it’s probably not the right fit. On the contrary, if you’re excited about rolling up your sleeves and being part of the founding team of a very ambitious and international fintech company, then this is a great match and we want to hear from you!

'CEO' is the most transversal role in a company, with moving priorities, parallelized projects, and quick but impactful decisions to be made. Your mission at Lago is to 10x Anh-Tho’s impact. This can include: defining and implementing repeatable processes to take the company to the next level (e.g., go to market, customer success, finance) ; lead preliminary research on strategic projects (e.g., pricing) ; act as the ‘head of a new BU’, lead the recruiting of the team and handle the handover. You’ll be involved in very operational as well as strategic projects and you should be happy and motivated by working on very hands-on things to serve the vision the founders have for the company.

Your manager will be the CEO (Anh-Tho, ex-McKinsey and ex 1st employee Qonto, a $5B Fintech) and she’s used to working with a very high bar. Anh-Tho needs a 'Wild Card' she can trust enough to delegate important things from her current scope while being confident the right level of quality and prioritization will remain. Your scope will include a variety of things and will evolve over time as the company grows. You should be excited about rather than afraid by its versatility!

The key main points will be:

  • Go-to-Market: The CEO is currently leading Sales, Marketing, Community. Your role will be to offload projects that can include: lead generation, sales negotiations, partnerships, leading community initiatives, data analysis.
  • Operations: Own all operational tasks that the CEO can no longer do, for instance: prioritizing things that need to be done (and doing them), building and improving key processes, managing external stakeholders (eg: accountants, lawyers, partners, contractors)
  • Finance / Data / Research: Be able to jump on P&L / financial reportings if need be, surface the most useful metrics to the team, conduct preliminary research and recommendations to support team’s decision


  • Prior experience in management consulting and/or investment banking
  • Prior experience in a high-velocity environment, executing on concrete projects

About Lago

We're the open-source billing API for usage-based, subscription-based, and all the nuances of pricing in between. With Lago, you can make your billing fit your pricing and business workflows, not the other way around.

Our Story

We built a custom billing system from scratch for, a 5x Fintech unicorn in Europe. That was not the best use of our engineers' time (it's complex to build and to maintain), but we felt 'trapped':

  • We did not want to hack around Stripe Billing, or Chargebee, or any of the equivalents to customize it: our pricing was a mix of subscription-based and usage-based, and the existing tools were built for subscription-based businesses
  • We did not want to leave precious % of revenue on the table. We resented their rent-seeker approach, and their closed architecture in general, with data being locked in another product. So we went for a home-made billing system, which was far from being perfect.

Lago aims at fixing this problem at scale, with an open architecture by design.

Our Mission

Lago is on a mission to pioneer a ‘Modern Pricing Stack’*, for Product Led companies.

  • Pricing and all its components (billing, payments, invoicing, cash collection, etc.) are one of the most critical business pillars, and are yet to be systemized.
  • Billing and pricing questions are still one of the most common sources of customer support tickets, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
  • Incumbent pricing tools have been built around a “closed architecture” mindset: keeping critical data locked to claim to be the “source of truth”, closing numerous parts of their APIs, only integrating with specific partners to lock you in (e.g., Stripe Billing only working with Stripe Payments), to finally collect a rent-seeker tax on transactions (0.5-1% of revenues). We believe in a more open pricing stack, that interconnects with the company’s internal workflows and systems, with a fairer revenue model.
