Staff Backend Developer (Rust+gRPC)
About the role
Work directly with the CTO. Architect a Rust and gRPC API for collecting data from disparate, unstable, and slow government sources. Set up coding processes, analytics, and third party tools. Construct a dynamically-generated DAG of workflows spanning unary and streamed responses, worker tasks, and notification systems. Speak with customers and build something you would want to use.
New responsibilities at this level:
- System Design: Decide the high level structure and specific technologies that power our backend systems and coding processes. Consider scope, user requirements, projections, data flow, availability, maintainability, and more. Lead the company in adopting these designs.
We also dedicate one day a week to writing articles on the interesting problems you have solved at Landeed. You've never really learned something until you've taught it.
About the interview
Phone screen and System Design
We'll ask what technologies you have worked with and what you're looking for in a company. We'll then go into a system design interview.
Technical screen
Before the interview, we'll share an existing Tonic and Diesel repository. The technical screen will be developing an endpoint in this repository. You will be screen-sharing from your computer.
