About the role

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and versatile DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer to join our growing team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a culture of continuous integration, automation, and rapid delivery of high-quality software. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, security, and reliability. This unique role allows you to make a significant impact on our product's success by optimising both development workflows and cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
  2. Manage and optimise our cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring it meets our performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  3. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to enable version-controlled and reproducible configurations.
  4. Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, facilitate effective communication, and promote a culture of collaboration.
  5. Monitor application performance and proactively respond to incidents, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime. Implement security best practices, access controls, and encryption to safeguard our data and infrastructure.
  6. Continuously identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in both development and production environments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum proven experience of 2 years as a DevOps Engineer and Cloud Engineer, with a track record of successfully managing cloud-based infrastructures and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  3. Strong proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hands-on experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Ruby, JavaScript) and experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  4. Strong proficiency with Elastic Search.
  5. Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  6. Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and configuration management tools.
  7. Knowledge of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures for cloud environments.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for teamwork and knowledge sharing.

About the interview

  1. Initial Screening: In this stage, the HR or Talent Acquisition team will review resumes and conduct initial screenings to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and overall fit for the role. The initial screening may include a brief phone or video interview to discuss the candidate's background, motivation for applying, and availability.

  2. Technical Interview - Round 1: Qualified candidates will have a technical interview with a senior DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer. This interview will delve deeper into the candidate's technical knowledge and experience in DevOps practices, cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management. The interviewer may present real-world scenarios to gauge the candidate's approach to problem-solving.

  3. Technical Interview - Round 2: In the second technical interview, candidates will meet with another member of the technical team, such as a lead developer or operations specialist. This interview may focus on assessing the candidate's understanding of CI/CD processes, version control, and configuration management practices.

  4. Final Interview & Offer Stage: The final interview will be conducted by key stakeholders, such as the CTO or founders. During this interview, the candidate will have the opportunity to discuss their long-term career goals, how they align with the company's mission, and their vision for the role. The interviewers will also provide insights into the company culture and discuss how the candidate can contribute to the company's growth.
