Senior Full-stack Software Engineer

Overview

LifeAt is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team as we drill down on our mission of solving focus drift. We’re looking for someone with frontend and backend development skills.

About the Role

Our Stack: React, Node, TypeScript, NoSQL, Firebase / GCP, Electron, Vercel.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work with two other developers (CTO and founding engineer) to write software used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. We'll work together to turn ideas and research into production-ready code.

As an engineer with multiple years of experience, you’ll be expected and encouraged to set high-level direction and be involved in decision-making with the founders. You'll help drive our engineering culture and practices as we grow our team. We want someone that is energized by taking ownership and building with open-ended constraints.

Things we’re looking for

• 3 or more years of professional software development experience
• React frontend development experience
• Proficient with TypeScript on the frontend and backend
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database management
• Scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
• Located on the West Coast

Bonus

• Experience with Firebase and/or Google Cloud services
• Experience with building distributed systems
• ElectronJS development experience
• React Native experience
• Located in Seattle, WA, San Francisco Bay Area, or on the West Coast

1. Intro video call with CTO to discuss past work experience, your goals for working at a startup, what we're looking for, and so on. We'll also ask you to do some live programming with additional technical discussion. (60 min)

2. Interview loop consisting of live programming problems, a small coding project, system design discussion, and meeting the rest of the team, including a conversation with our CEO. (3-4 hours)

3. (Optional) Work with us for 3-5 days! If you’re able to, we’d love to work with you on a side project that's relevant to our product roadmap, but more on the R&D side of things. This will help us get a better signal for you as a teammate and for you to get a better understanding of our team culture. You'll be compensated for your time.
