About the role

Lucy is seeking a Growth / Business Development Intern for Summer 2021 to integrate with our team remotely and serve as a generalist across sales and marketing initiatives. You will interface directly with the founding team and be able to see and help with any aspects of the business that interest you. You will be able to lead new initiatives and have dedicated budgets to help grow the business.

Our Mission: Lucy’s mission is to reduce tobacco-related harm to zero. We provide next-generation nicotine products, with just pure nicotine and food-grade ingredients. We provide a cleaner, more convenient alternative to the products on the market today.

Your Role: You'll work across the organization to find opportunities which interest you and can help us reach more smokers who want to quit. This can take the form of finding new sales and marketing channels, negotiating with these partners, and then project managing a successful launch. You will also have the opportunity to dive into existing processes and help us optimize and grow ongoing initiatives.

The ideal candidate has: An interest in high-impact mission driven ventures. Confidence when analyzing opportunities and presenting conclusions with spreadsheets and slide decks. Working in a high-growth environment, where new initiatives pop up frequently but some projects must be abandoned after initial review. Solid critical reasoning skills and be able to understand business development tradeoffs. An interest in physical products and consideration of the user experience associated with marketing and distributing these products. Organized and self-driven, able to work from home reliably and track work effectively.

Compensation/benefits: In addition to a modest stipend, we are interested in providing equity compensation to align long-term incentives. Flexibility to define working hours and workload based on other engagements between 20 and 40 hours per week. Opportunity to work closely with a proven team of entrepreneurs with the ability to build your own career arc.

If interested, please email your resume with the headline “SUMMER 2021 INTERN” and a brief description of your interest to alan@lucy.co

The Future

We have a superior product, regulatory tailwinds, and a rapidly scalable distribution plan. There are still over 30 million Americans using harmful tobacco products, and we want to switch all of them to our product and give them control over their addiction and health for the future. We are looking for hardworking individuals to join us in driving a stake in the heart of the tobacco industry once and for all.
