As a small tight-knit team, we value finding team members who are passionate about building, scaling, all while having fun together! While we have our own roles to fill, we often find ourselves wearing multiple hats. No day is the same when you’re building from scratch. Some of us are based at Method HQ in Austin, TX and others are based in Washington D.C.

The Impact

As the Accounting Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the leadership team to drive accounting initiatives forward through successful partnerships, organizational planning, and outstanding execution. You’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of the financial, statutory, internal reporting processes, financial systems, and internal controls. You will lead the development of accounting processes, systems, and controls to support Method’s existing business.

What you'll do

• Perform all accounting operations, including core processes such as month-end close, monthly customer billing, and financial statement preparation

• Perform regular treasury to bank reconciliations to ensure accurate movements of our client funds, and continuously improve these processes

• Prepare key reporting packages, financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, budget vs actuals analysis, and ad hoc analysis to understand and direct the financial state of business

• Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and procedures

• Lead Method through successful annual financial audits

• Take charge of tax liaison, business requirements, and monthly/quarterly third-party reporting

Who you are

• You are a Certified Public Accountant and have a degree in Accounting or Finance

• 7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or private industry experience with at least 2 years of industry experience in a high-growth environment

• Be knowledgeable about operating in a heavily regulated financial environment

• Fluency with U.S. GAAP and the ability to prepare relevant technical accounting memos

• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements

Extra awesome

• Experience in Finance / FinTech / SaaS / API businesses

• Have worked at a Big 4 Accounting firm

• Experience working at a smaller stage company / start-up environment

• Knowledge of QuickBooks, Rippling, Google Suite, & NetSuite
