About the team:
The Data Platform team's mission is to help our customers trust their data by building tools and products to import, debug, understand, and leverage their data. Our target customers are software developers working at other well-known tech companies. We are a team of eight with a wide-range of experience and two of the most tenured software engineers at Mixpanel.

You will be part of the founding members of the engineering team at our new Austin location. This will be an exciting opportunity to work in a startup like environment with the backing of a financially stable larger organization.

About the role:
Have you ever used Mixpanel or some other analytics product and thought "&%@# why is this so hard?!" This is your chance to build the experience you wish you had. Your primary goal will be to make developers ❤️ Mixpanel. You will be responsible for executing projects that require designing data models, running data migrations, designing and writing new APIs (mostly in Python, some Go), and building front-end UIs (in Typescript/TSX).

What You’ll Work On:

  • Designing and building public APIs and documentation infrastructure
  • Improving the quality and understanding of data via our data governance tools
  • Creating tools to help customers identify, debug, and fix incorrect data
  • Ensuring Mixpanel works flawlessly with other best-of-bread tools

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Has 2+ years of experience working on full-stack software projects (DB → UI)
  • Has a solid understanding of and practical experience with HTTP API design principles
  • Has a true passion for building
  • Thinks like a product manager
  • Can strike a good balance of correctness and pragmatism
  • Wants to solve problems for other developers (our customers)
  • Enjoys crafting delightful user experiences
