About the role

Moneytree is hiring a Platform Engineer. This engineer will work closely with the founding team to design and build the foundational data and API layers of Moneytree’s software stack. You’ll be responsible for modeling the complex domains of real estate and personal energy use while also building the platform for Moneytree’s suite of current and future products. You’ll work with a diverse set of partners and build tools for a variety of capabilities including: energy management and bill payment, integration and management of physical assets into real-time financial and energy markets, tools for property managers and owners to manage and operate their cleantech hardware, ESG and other data reporting tools and more.

You will work with the rest of the tech team on product and data design while owning the Moneytree platform. As a new company with minimal tech debt and big ambitions, there will be many opportunities to hone your existing skills as well as explore new areas of technical and non-technical growth (full stack and backend development, product, data engineering and machine learning, business operations, management, etc.).

Moneytree is a climate tech company with products that relate to solar + batteries, EV charging, tenant energy management, virtual power plants and more. You do not need a prior background in any of these applications nor experience across all aspects of Moneytree’s tech stack - we’re happy to teach you what you don’t know. We’re looking for someone who can learn quickly and think critically about applying those lessons across many aspects of our business as well as help level up the rest of the team with your own unique skill-set and experiences. The ideal candidate is an empathetic, creative and tenacious problem solver with a desire to help fight climate change. As an early technical hire at our company, you’ll wear many hats, work on many projects and learn a lot!

  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including sales, product, and operations to build the right products for internal and external customers

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Node.js, Postgres, Golang, Python, AWS
