About the role

About OneSchema

We are a fast-growing startup backed by General Catalyst, Sequoia Capital, and Y Combinator. We see an incredible opportunity to be the de-facto data transfer platform for all industries that run on CSV files (hint: it’s all of them).

We have an ambitious, intense, and fast-paced culture at OneSchema. Beyond any specific skills you have today, we believe that the motivation and obsession with problem solving are the most important characteristics you’ll bring to this role. You'll work with our world-class Product, Engineering, Design, and Sales teams to drive the adoption of OneSchema’s industry-leading data import platform. The ability to operate autonomously is an absolute must. With this level of autonomy, you’ll have the chance to learn in one week what it would take months to learn elsewhere.

Compensation is competitive - we expect employees to act like owners and make sure their equity stake reflects that. Our work culture is hybrid, and this role will be based in our SF HQ office 5x per week.

About the role

This Founding Growth Lead position OneSchema will be an extremely high-impact, cross-functional role entrusted with a large level of ownership. You will be directly responsible for the single most important aspect of our business: figuring out how to make OneSchema grow. This is a strategic role that requires analytical skill, but also the ability to communicate with our customers and deeply understand their needs and how to reach them. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work on the strategy and execution behind growing our customer base.

You’ll be responsible for experimentation, and there’s a strong technical bent to this role as you’ll be setting up the systems to measure and execute experiments at scale. The ideal candidate has a hacker’s mentality full of curiosity and creativity. You’re flexible, scrappy, and love to hustle. You hold yourself to an extremely high standard; you’re outcome-oriented and aren’t satisfied unless you’ve hit your KPIs.

You’ll be responsible for our content strategy, paid social ads, search engine marketing, newsletter and podcast sponsorships, events marketing, conferences, and more. You’ll also have ownership over our product marketing efforts, which include building direct relationships with our customers and creating case studies, working with product & engineering to understand how features work (+how to best frame them to customers), and improving our website conversion rates.

As a founding member of our GTM team, the ability to operate autonomously is an absolute must. You’ll own our marketing budget, measure, and be accountable to core KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the CEO to develop and test hypotheses for unlocking and scaling new growth channels.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and pain points. Synthesize learnings into effective messaging that can be used across sales & marketing.
  • Talk to customers to understand the most effective messaging to reach them.
  • Iterating on website landing pages, emails, ad copy, and more.
  • Experimenting with a broad range of channels, including PPC, SEM, content marketing, paid newsletter and podcast sponsorships, and events marketing.
  • Analyzing and reporting on the effectiveness of demand generation campaigns and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Influence cross-functionally across Product, Design, Sales to drive growth.

Who you are

  • Experience
    • One of the following profiles
      • 4+ years of work experience in management consulting
      • 4+ YOE at a fast growing tech company in a GTM role / early stage startup
      • Former founder of a fast growing startup that owned GTM
  • Skills
    • You are a very strong writer, have extraordinary customer empathy, crafting compelling messaging to technical buyers (e.g. engineering and product leaders)
    • You are quantitative and analytical, comfortable working with data. You are strong in Excel and have strong frameworks for making strategic investment decisions based on results from your experiments. You can clearly report back to leadership what’s working and why.
    • You may not have a technical background, but you’re technically savvy enough to explain the value of a technical product to technical users.
    • Creativity. While analytical acumen is critical to your success, we also pride ourselves on being able to think outside the box.
  • Culture
    • You are ambitious and hungry. You want to propel your career by joining a high-growth startup
    • You’re a self-motivated, action-oriented self-starter
    • You have a genuine curiosity that leads you not just to the “what” but the “why”
    • Strong growth mindset and frequently solicit constructive feedback

Benefits

  • Meaningful equity compensation - employees act like owners and their compensation reflects that
  • Medical, Dental and Vision plans
  • Daily lunch in office
  • 401k, HSA, and FSAs
  • Unlimited PTO and sick days
  • Mentorship from marketing leaders at companies such as OpenAI, Airtable, and Notion, and Rippling

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $120-$180k. Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity packages, health, dental and 401(k) contributions that play a big part in recognizing you for the huge impact you will have on helping us achieve our mission.
