✨ About us ✨
PhotoRoom is the #1 photo editing app for entrepreneurs. Instead of manipulating pixels, users edit objects. Deep learning models ensure the translation of pixels into objects. Created by Matthieu, a Stanford and Ecole Polytechnique alumnus who led GoPro's 60 million user image editing products and Eliot, an alumnus of Ecole des Ponts with several years of deep learning experience, PhotoRoom is recognized globally by experts at TechCrunch and Apple several times for its innovative approach on image editing. The team is well funded, profitable, and advised by experts in image analysis who have worked or are working at Facebook, Apple, Twitter, Adobe, Snap, Y Combinator, and GoPro.
As a team, we value clear and candid feedback in order to learn quickly from each other and iterate on what we build. We often say that we’re looking for artisans, because an artisan cares about what is done and does it with purpose.

Being only two iOS engineers with Franck, you have a powerful impact on the PhotoRoom app used by millions and constantly featured by Apple. You develop the application and its architecture to allow fast iterations on the iOS code and the product. You collaborate with the rest of PhotoRoom (design, machine learning, design). A small word from Franck: "Hi ! I’ve been in iOS development for some time now, but being a part of the PhotoRoom team has been my most rewarding experience to date, knowing our work makes life easier for millions of users. I can’t wait for you to join, to learn from each other and see how far we can push the app together."
Why you should join PhotoRoom
PhotoRoom provides photo editing software powerful enough to create outstanding images yet simple enough to be used without any training. We leverage deep learning to translate pixels into objects, drastically simplifying non-creative tasks such as removing backgrounds from images.
Our mission: enable entrepreneurs and small businesses to compose images that stand out.
Founded by Matthieu Rouif (10 years of experience in mobile apps, built apps used by 100+ million users) and Eliot Andres (4 years of experience in large-scale computer vision), PhotoRoom was selected by Y Combinator in 2020. Talented engineers, designers and marketers have joined the team since then, coming from Apple, Algolia or Google among others.
Today, PhotoRoom is profitable and is used by more than 5 millions of users every month. We improve our product and our technology with the support of world-class experts in the field like Yann LeCun, Roxanne Varza or Holger Seim. PhotoRoom was featured by Apple as one of the most innovative photo apps in recent years.
As a small tight-knit team, our priorities are impact and iteration speed. We ship new versions every week and talk to our users daily. There is nothing we enjoy more than working side-by-side with another team member to improve our users' experience.
Become one of the first hires in a fast-growing start-up and make your mark on a product used by millions of people.
