About the role

Platypus helps business and data teams create workflows to automate business processes, in minutes and with no help from the engineering teams. We are the industry's only low-code, real-time, self-hosted, business rules management system. As a DevOps Engineer at Platypus, you will immediately play an integral role in building out, scaling, and optimizing our platform and CI/CD pipelines. As a DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build, test, scale, support, and frequently refine our systems infrastructure for all environments, in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Build and improve our CI/CD pipelines, including the design of quality gates and develop test automation.
  • Define the team Quality Assurance methodology and means to ensure it.
  • Work with our customers' technology teams to ensure proper on-premise installation and scalability, learning from different customer scenarios.
  • Work closely with the CTO to help design the overall systems architecture.

About you

Must have

  • A scrappy entrepreneurial attitude, with a good understanding of the tradeoffs between quality, performance, and time to ship.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Prior experience creating push-to-deploy CI/CD pipelines into multiple environments.
  • Prior experience with AWS, GCP, or MS Azure.
  • Prior experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL,...) and SQL language.
  • Working knowledge of deploying distributed systems.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems such as GIT.
  • Working knowledge of open source configuration of monitoring systems such as Nagios, Sensu or Prometheus.
  • Passion for Engineering.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with event-driven systems like Kafka.
  • Prior experience with other IaC like Terraform, CloudFormation,....
  • Prior experience with ETL pipelines.
  • Prior experience creating self-hosted/on-prem systems.
  • Prior experience working at an early-stage startup.
  • Coding or scripting knowledge in JavaScript, Java, Python or Rust.

Our team:

We are a young remote startup based in San Francisco, California, the company is backed by Y Combinator, K Fund, TMV, and Bigsur ventures. Our fast-growing team values rationality and compassion overall. We also value clear communication, efficient execution, creativity, and innovation. Our team members wear many hats and draw on experience from companies such as Intel, Amazon, and Bain & Company.

Why you should join ProcessLabs

We are building the future of remote and hybrid work for engineering teams.

The founders have tons of experience with the users and problem first hand, being a former Product Manager from Android Developer Tools at Google, former Engineering Manager for AI solutions for Fortune 500 companies and former Management Consultant at Bain & Company. We are also 2x startup founders, and are multipleX Hackathon winners (we actually met at one).

We are building the tool we wished we had to manage remote/hybrid teams and quickly and accurately answer the key questions from the business stakeholders - this is an unsolved $10B problem.
