About the role

Promoted is hiring an expert in search retrieval for use in multi-stage search, feed, and ad systems used at large technology companies in the USA, like at Pinterest or Facebook. Ideal candidates will have worked in search, feed, recommendations, or ads at major USA tech companies and have experience with both embedding-based and keyword-based approaches, with multiple retrieval sources, and understand how to optimize for recall versus precision. Other excellent, relevant experiences:

  • Free text search in multiple languages
  • Ads targeting and pacing systems in social media (ads eng at FB, Google, Snap, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.)
  • Deploying and operating in production Solr, Elastic, and other major search retrieval systems
