Job Overview

As a Software Engineer working on Android mobile applications, you’ll drive new innovations and build beautiful user experiences. You’ll work with mobile developers and resources to drive the next generation of apps at Ramani for our Android-based POS solution.

About Ramani

Ramani - Y combinator backed, is building an Operating System for Africa's FMCG supply chain. Africa's supply chain is broken because of a lack of data visibility & access to financial services. We provide a modern supply chain management platform and embedded inventory financing for micro distributors of FMCGs.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience with: Java, RXJava, Retrofit, Room Persistence, Expresso
• 7+ years of professional experience building native Android applications in Java
• A strong software architect well versed in design patterns (e.g. you've worked with MVP, Clean/MVVM,MVC, and know the benefits of each.
• Ability to work with low RAM devices

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in API design, performance optimization, client architecture or tools in the mobile space.
• Knowledge of the Android SDK performance tools and optimization techniques.
• Ability to take on complex and ambiguous problems.
• Ability to ship quickly consumer facing, high quality, mobile products.
• Knowledge of Android Open Source Project (AOSP)

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Think about never-before-solved problems on the Android platform and coming up with possible solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and products.
• Build robust and scalable Android components using the latest tools in the Android ecosystem.
