About the role

Solar power is the largest source of new energy in the world. Raptor Maps is a fast-growing, venture-backed, MIT-born climate tech startup that is building software to enable the solar energy industry to scale. Parties across the entire solar lifecycle use Raptor Maps’ data model to manage ever growing utility-scale solar portfolios. We are an industry leader with hundreds of customers, including owners, builders, operators, and aerial service providers, across over 40 countries with 200+ million solar panels under management. Our software platform is essential in the fight against climate change.

We’re seeking a B2B company events specialist who can bring their passion and interest in business, technology and solar energy to Raptor Maps.  


  • Conceive of and manage all our remote events including webinars and events run jointly with other companies.
  • Moderate and host virtual events. 
  • Identify and negotiate contracts with third party conferences globally.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the solar energy conference landscape.
  • Manage all logistics for all third party conferences including shipping and lodging. 
  • Provide logos and copy to conferences. 
  • Ensure that we get the most out of tables through getting banners and swag produced and delivered to conferences in time.
  • Organize in-person parties and social events at public venues near where third party conferences are held.
  • Secure speaking slots for our executives at third party conferences.
  • Write presentations, some of which can be technical in nature.  Edit presentations of others.  Ensure all conference content aligns with Raptor Maps’ marketing strategy, brand attributes and tone of voice.
  • Maintain relationships with Raptor Maps employees, clients and partners and work with them on presentation and speaking ideas.  
  • Manage invoices for third party conferences.
  • Become an expert in all things solar energy.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitors and topics.  
  • Understand clients’ unique needs and purchase motivators.
  • From time to time, help manage other marketing channels such as email, social media and PR. 
  • From time to time, help research other miscellaneous ideas for attracting qualified leads that may not be related to events or conferences.
  • From time to time, write blog posts and press releases.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks related to marketing.
  • 25% of time or more may involve marketing tasks not related to events or conferences.
  • Some overnight travel required.


  • 4-8 years of experience in company events.
  • Expert at Zoom and other platforms used for virtual events.
  • Expert at Google Slides and/or PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly understand new and rapidly evolving technologies and trends.
  • Ability to write succinct, easy to skim and engaging marketing copy.
  • Flair for visual design, photography and illustrations to liven up presentations.
  • Basic understanding of common marketing tactics.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Integrity and strong work ethic.  
  • Comfortable in a remote (work from home) environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in energy, renewable energy or solar energy.
  • Proficiency in HubSpot.
  • Fluent in Spanish, French, German or Italian.
