About the role

Solar power is the largest source of new energy in the world. Raptor Maps is a fast-growing, venture-backed, MIT-born climate tech startup that is building software to enable the solar energy industry to scale. Parties across the entire solar lifecycle use Raptor Maps’ data model to manage ever growing utility-scale solar portfolios. We are an industry leader with hundreds of customers, including owners, builders, operators, and aerial service providers, across over 40 countries with 200+ million solar panels under management. Our software platform is essential in the fight against climate change.

To ensure solar energy has the infrastructure to scale, Raptor Maps is looking for an experienced and transformational VP of Sales to serve as the visionary that drives sales strategies and action plans to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth goals. This leader will need to hold an in depth knowledge of project financing — think Internal Rate of Return (IRR), risk mitigation, Net Present Value (NPV). The VP of Sales will be responsible for enabling a team to aggressively grow top-line revenue and drive new business while thriving in our fast-paced, multi-faceted team as a master of sales strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Scale our business through fast paced revenue growth
  • Develop and manage annual revenue strategies, budgets, forecasts, and targets
  • Attract, retain, and engage a high performing revenue team
  • Develop and implement sales and account management infrastructure and processes to include CRM, sales methodology, pipeline management, metrics, reporting, and other sales enablement opportunities
  • Actively manage sales pipelines to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Become a trusted, knowledgeable representative of Raptor Maps and a“go to” person in the solar industry by building rapport with customers virtually and in-person
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product Management, and Marketing, as key partners in hitting company goals 
  • Create a team culture that promotes and rewards initiative, growth, open communication, accountability, and excellence
  • Serve as thought leader and partner with other leadership team members to shape the strategy of Raptor Maps

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of exceeding 3X revenue growth year over year at a high growth, early stage company
  • Solid knowledge of developer cash flow and net present value analysis 
  • Track record of being relentlessly data-driven to plan and execute on sales strategy
  • Experience creating and building a diverse and inclusive team environment that fosters trust and a sense of empowerment via a purposeful culture
  • Consultative approach to sales, understanding pain points of customers and addressing their needs through solutions selling
  • Deep experience in selling both B2B software and services. Successful in multi-product sales, particularly using land-and-expand approach.
  • Ability to communicate externally with customers and internally across teams, and build rapport with all
  • Experience in the Solar industry (bonus!)
  • Professionally fluent in Spanish, German, Italian, French, or Japanese (double bonus!)
