34 million people suffer from heart rhythm disorders. Just to start recommended heart pills, patients have to be hospitalized for 3+ days just for monitoring, even when they aren’t feeling sick. SafeBeat Rx replaces this hospitalization with a take-home kit that combines FDA-approved wearables with our life-saving ECG software that lets patients start these medications safely at home. We are a team of physicians, engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts dedicated to using engineering to improve heart health.
I am a cardiologist and bioengineer internationally recognized for my contributions to heart rhythm research and medical innovation. While caring for patients in the hospital, I identified the need for patients to start heart drugs safely at home. To solve this problem, I have assembled a strong multi-disciplinary team including heart rhythm physicians, data scientists, AI engineers, clinical trial specialists, and regulatory experts. My passion is to use engineering to transform heart health.
I am a Harvard-trained interventional pain physician, and an applied mathematician with masters level training. I serve as cofounder and Chief Technical Officer for SafeBeat Rx, and have served on numerous national medical boards and committees, including for the American Medical Association and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, where I have helped directly shape policies affecting reimbursement and patient access to treatments, ranging from common to the cutting edge.
