AI-Powered Trust and Safety Automation
We use language models to solve real business problems and our users pay us real money. It turns out that’s a lot of fun! It also means there’s a lot of work to do — when our users see what SafetyKit can do, they want more.
We’re hiring fast, thoughtful, adventurous full-stack engineers to help make those users happy. You don’t need to be an AI or ML expert. If you can talk to users and build/ship fast, we want to talk.
Here’s what one SafetyKit engineer said about working here:
I joined three months ago and love it—the office is beautiful, our customers are companies even your grandma has heard of, and there’s free lunch 🙂
SafetyKit has infrastructure for writing, testing, and evaluating custom policies (e.g. what can/can’t you sell on Stripe/eBay/Upwork?). We use all that tooling every day, which makes the tooling awesome: every engineer pushes upgrades that make their own lives easier.
The team is super knowledgeable and the work is rarely boilerplate: in my first month I helped design and code internal tooling, built a demo for one of the biggest online marketplaces, cut costs by 80% for an existing client, ran data science work in Python, implemented new frontend designs, tried a new RAG library, and bought cute stationary on the company card. You can work on all kinds of different projects, too, or bring a really focused skill set to what you’re most excited about.
We want you to join our team! There’s so much our users need us to do, so much cool AI product to build, and so many prompts to engineer.
We keep our interview process minimal:
SafetyKit replaces human content moderators with language models. Companies like Character.ai, Substack, Upwork, Faire, and Eventbrite use SafetyKit to find and remove bad stuff on their platform without hurting good users.
We’re ex-Stripe and Airbnb, repeat founders, and have deep connections and experience in our space. We work together in-person every day in a sunny office in the Mission in San Francisco.
