Senior Speech Scientist
About the role
We are looking for an experienced speech scientist to join our team, onsite or remotely. You have been building modern ASR and NLU solutions and are up-to-date with the latest developments within the academia. You are comfortable working with the latest machine/deep learning technologies and are accustomed to independently implement the latest research findings. You will be working very closely with our Chief Scientist, who has been developing Amazon Alexa, Echo and FireTV products.
You will be a central part of our speech science team responsible for:
- Developing our in-house speech recognition and natural language understanding systems
- Prototyping novel ASR and NLU solutions
- Designing automated data processing pipelines for speech and language data
- Large-scale training of statistical models for ASR and NLU
- Evaluating and benchmarking the ASR and NLU systems
You will be a great candidate for this position if you have:
- Real passion and talent to develop outstanding ASR and NLU solutions, in several languages
- Good programming skills to prototype ML systems, iterate the solutions, and get them deployed
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing
- Understanding of modern software development practices
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Good team work skills
We expect you to master most of the following tools and technologies:
- Programming languages: Python, C/C++, scripting
- Machine learning: PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
- Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud
- DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes
- ASR tools: OpenFST, LM tools, Kaldi
- Developer tools: Git, Github
