At Standard Cognition, we’re revolutionizing the way the world shops. By replacing cash registers with computer vision-powered checkout, we’re creating a frictionless experience for shoppers. Since launching in 2017, Standard has contracts with multiple global retailers and is in the process of deploying our Standard Checkout solution across thousands of stores globally. We’re backed by some of Silicon Valley’s leading investors including Softbank, CRV, Initialized, EQT, Draper Associates and YCombinator. We just announced our series C in February 2021!

As a QA Operations Tester at Standard, you’ll sit on our small but mighty QA Team, where we cross-functionally to test the end-to-end system. You’ll report to the Manager of QA Operations, and be responsible for helping build our computer vision and machine learning test capacity, touching everything from the cameras in our stores to our tracking models to the code used to deploy our platform. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product, data analysts, and operations mavens across the company to design and execute tests to ensure that our system is operating at peak performance. As a team, we sign off on store installs and software packages, design forward-thinking tests to validate new tools and processes, and make sure that shopping with Standard platform is an excellent experience.

This is a FULL TIME remote position located in the United States.

What you'll do here: Design and execute manual and automated tests to validate the quality and stability of our end-to-end system. Collaborate with teams focused on installing our system, streaming video and images from our stores, and building machine learning models. Work with product, software, hardware, and operations teams to improve test automation and measure test success. As a part of a metrics-based testing team, use data to develop precise, quantifiable, and accurate measures of system performance. Stay on top of system quality within a fast-paced and constantly changing startup environment.

Who you are: You have experience in mapping test strategies to requirements and creating detailed test plans. You take pride in being a flexible and creative problem solver. Tools and testing configurations can change frequently, and our testing operations need to keep up. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’re a systems-oriented thinker. You’ll touch teams dealing with everything from how how we identify a person in a store, to what items are on the shelves, to store operations, and want to understand how all the moving parts fit together. You have experience with testing or ticketing systems (Testrail, Phabricator, or Jira), with code repositories (Github), and with continuous integration and deployment (Jenkins). You are experienced with hardware testing, software testing, or software development.
