The screen recorder that edits videos for you.
About the role
We’re hiring a founding designer at Tella. If that’s you, then you’ll be the first designer to join the team.
Tens of thousands of videos are made and shared on Tella every month. This results in millions of monthly viewers. So as the founding designer you’ll fine tune what’s already working. But in some ways we’re still just getting started. This means you’ll also invent completing new features and rethink parts of the product.
Our customers are startups, small businesses and creators. These are people and teams who need the outcome of video, but aren’t that interested in the process. In other words, they just want really great videos, really fast. This means we’re responsible for designing not just how Tella works, but also how the actual videos look and feel. So the impact of your work will stretch far beyond our immediate customer base — it’ll be experienced by all the millions of viewers that our customers have.
We’re looking for someone who is an exceptional designer, first and foremost. You should really love the craft and creative side of product design.
But we’re also looking for someone who wants to help set the direction of the product, i.e. you want to do more than just design, you want to help build a great business.
And finally, we’re looking for someone who can inspire and attract other designers. We’re not expecting you to build a team right away or anything, but you should be motivated by turning Tella into a place where other great designers want to work: great design, attention to detail, and storytelling in every aspect of the product and brand.

About Tella
We’re building the screen recorder that edits videos for you. Today we help startups, creators, and small businesses transform things that happen on their screen into professional video content that helps grow their businesses. Think: high-production Loom videos.
We’ve built our own video renderer. It renders videos of any duration, with as many edits and effects as you want, nearly instantly. This means we can dramatically cut down the time it takes to create a video.
Our mission is to amplify the world’s ideas with video. Video is this incredible medium that even in 2024 is under-utilised. But the technology is catching up and video tools no longer need to be derivations of complex video editing software. So while today we focus on screen recordings, soon we’ll move into new kinds of video.
Come join us building the future of video at work!
We’re trying make asynchronous video the number one way people communicate at work. Or put another way, we’re trying to make screen and camera recordings absolutely sick.
We think the humble screen and camera recording can be so much more. Why? Because the world is remote and almost everything we do happens on a screen. So we’re creating a set of tools that’s focussed on helping people turn their work and ideas into fun, engaging videos.
We’re not building video editing software, we’re building whatever the video equivalent of a slide deck is. Come work that out with us!
