Volta Labs is rapidly expanding and looking for a technical recruiter to help drive our company in to the future.


Volta Labs, Inc. (https://www.voltalabs.com/) is an MIT spin-off that has unlocked powerful new capabilities with our proprietary fluidic technology. Working at the intersection of engineering and biology, we are developing the future of automation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in life sciences. We are at an exciting inflection point as we emerge out of stealth mode and scale up. Alongside our collaborators, we have demonstrated powerful and unique competencies that are now being developed into robust products for the decentralization of Next Generation Sequencing. This beachhead application is on the bleeding edge of innovation and adoption, and we intend to shape the future with our paradigm shifting platform.

  • Own and lead Volta Labs’ recruiting efforts, process development, tools, and communications
  • Collaborate with internal hiring managers on personnel requirements and support resource allocation planning
  • Create an exceptional experience for new employees from initial discussion through their onboarding
  • Research, identify and cultivate talent networks that will further progress the company’s recruiting strategy
  • Curate a diverse and inclusive group of team members that are re-shaping the next generation of biological capabilities through interdisciplinary technology development


  • Bachelor’s degree or significant hands-on experience in a technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience in life sciences/ biotechnology recruiting
  • Experience recruiting across multiple career levels, ranging from college internships to directors
  • Experience building up and managing application tracking systems, such as Lever or Greenhouse, as well as external tools like LinkedIn
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced start-up work environment with capability to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Experience or training specifically in diversity, equity, and inclusion 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work well with scientists, engineers, marketers, business developers, and beyond, all having widely divergent backgrounds
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision to be productive


  • Experience working on technical projects as a hands-on contributor
  • Knowledge of life science technologies like Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
