Software Engineer II - Hybrid

‼️ The salary for this role is between $120-145k with equity from a series-A company and is hybrid where employees come to the office around 2x a week!

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a full-stack engineer who loves solving customer-facing product challenges. This role reports to our CTO and works on the Customer Team, supporting our Partner Growth and Sales team and working directly with our product and design teams here in San Francisco. Someone in this role will like working on a React front end and iterating quickly based on customer feedback. You'll get to build a really awesome fintech product and API for our payroll customers!

SOME THINGS YOU MAY BE WORKING ON

• Our engineering team is super into Typescript and we’re built on React/Redux, Node, MongoDB, and AWS and all split up into microservices. Locally we use yarn 3, esbuild.
• This role focuses 80-90% on building and coding in our codebase, but there will be opportunities to mentor and give input to other aspects of the business since we are a small and flat organization.
• Some future projects in the backlog we'd love you to take ownership over could be: --> Helping revamp our React component library --> Working with our designer to improve the UI/UX of commonly used flows and screens --> Build white-labeled payroll components that allow our customers to get started quickly with our product
• Work with a team of 10-15 engineers from Microsoft, Apple, Intuit, Namely, Blend, and other cool start-ups who will advocate and champion your success in a collaborative environment.

YOU HAVE

• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a start-up environment
• You’re experienced in Typescript, NodeJS, MongoDB, and AWS
• You’re proficient in React or a similar frontend framework
• You’ve built products end-to-end, working closely with product and design teams
• You are a strong collaborator and want to help others grow
• You thrive in a fast-paced and, at times, ambiguous environment
• You strive for technical excellence in everything you do

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience working in fintech software development
• Interest in joining a fun fast-paced start-up in the fintech industry

Step 3: 💵 Paid Take-Home Assignment - 3-4 hours

Step 4: 💻 Final Interview - 2.5 hours

Final Interview Details: Review the assignment with CTO and another Engineer, have a coffee chat with someone, and a final call with someone from leadership to learn more about the vision and mission of Zeal
