{"id":75439,"title":"Copilot by CommandBar","tagline":"An embedded user assistant for any app","body":"Hi there! [**@CommandBar**](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/21767) started out building a natural language interface (cmd+k as a service) for any app. Today we’re launching something that I think is closer to that original vision, of course ✨powered by AI ✨. We’re calling it Copilot 🙃\n\n\u003e _Copilot (_[_https://commandbar.com/copilot_](https://commandbar.com/copilot)_) lets any site embed an assistant that can teach users how a UI works and execute actions on their behalf._\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post\u0026id=75439\u0026key=user_uploads/484524/e37490a7-00e8-4fac-92eb-d8721239f212)\n\n# **Who is it for**\n\nMainly web apps, but it’s just as useful for blogs and marketing sites too. Anywhere you can embed an HTML snippet. Also works with Wordpress, Bubble, etc.\n\n# **How it works**\n\n* 📖 **Add source content** by providing a URL to a marketing site or help center. This gives you an AI chatbot.\n* ✏️ **Add other experiences**. Zappier-style, wire up API endpoints for Copilot to be able to perform multi-step actions. And create product tours. Then, tell Copilot situations in which users would find them useful. This is the assistant part.\n* 💈 **Personalize** the widget to look and feel like the rest of your site.\n* 🚢 **Ship your Copilot**\n\n  by pasting an HTML snippet.\n* 🎁 **Extra goodies** that come out of the box:\n  * Automatically learns based on user feedback what works for users overall and for individual users (e.g. whether users like tours vs. actions).\n  * Bot cites its sources, and users can view source docs in Copilot without leaving the product.\n\n# **Can I try it?**\n\nWe pre-trained some Copilots you can play around with here: [**https://copilot.commandbar.com**](https://copilot.commandbar.com/)\n\nYou can create a free account here: [**https://www.commandbar.com/get-started**](https://copilot.commandbar.com/).\n\nFor anyone else building in the space, happy to answer questions about how we built this!","slug":"Jcl-copilot-by-commandbar","created_at":"2023-10-07T14:36:47.591Z","updated_at":"2026-05-13T23:31:11.668Z","total_vote_count":18,"url":"https://www.ycombinator.com/launches/Jcl-copilot-by-commandbar","share_image_url":"//bookface-static.ycombinator.com/assets/ycdc/yc-og-image-c440a0ad1dacfb86eeeb343717479cc54d256614449b4ef719977a0a451f8bc8.png","company":{"id":21767,"name":"Command AI","slug":"command-ai","url":"https://command.ai","logo":"https://bookface-images.s3.amazonaws.com/small_logos/2bca198859e87cd196f78931db97af3133a90eee.png","batch":"Summer 2020","industry":"B2B","tags":["SaaS","B2B","Chatbot"],"search_path":"https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/21767"}}
