{"id":98446,"title":"Syntropy: The agentic coding app for complex tasks","tagline":"Ship code like a power user from day one.","body":"Stop prompting like a power user. Start shipping like one. \n\nSign up at syntropy.io!\n\n\u003e **TL;DR**: Syntropy is an agentic coding app for spec-driven autonomous development on complex long-horizon tasks, optimized for enterprise-scale projects. Just describe the feature you want, go out for lunch, and come back to a production-ready PR.\n\n**The problem**\n\nToday’s coding agents work well on short, local tasks. But once you’re doing heavy duty engineering, most tools break for the same reason – not that the models are weak, but because the workflow is missing. \n\nIf you’ve used tools like Claude Code seriously, you already know what it takes to get good results: write a plan, have other agents review it, split work into phases, execute step-by-step, write and run tests, review diffs, prevent scope drift, scatter .md files throughout the codebase, and carefully manage session context to prevent decay.\n\nIt works … but it’s a far cry from “autonomous” development, and you end up babysitting a terminal for hours. There's also a steep learning curve: only power users can get consistent results.\n\n**What we’re building**\n\n**_Syntropy productionizes the workflow a good engineering team operates on_**, all the way from feature ideation to fully tested PR.\n\n_Phase 1: Collaborative specification_\n\nYou start in a doc. Write your initial idea, and Syntropy runs a structured discovery loop. The spec updates as you go, and you can also edit it directly at any time. You can also consult an advisor agent to research potential tradeoffs, explore and edit files, and run scripts. \n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post\u0026id=98446\u0026key=user_uploads/3146534/12d7295a-070e-4f48-a344-5620a3d23e5f)\n\n_Phase 2: Autonomous execution_\n\nClick “Build”, and Syntropy runs a multi-stage pipeline in the background:\n\n* Generates a PRD from the spec and reviews it (with multiple  verification loops)\n* Decomposes the PRD into detailed subtasks with explicit dependencies\n* Orchestrates multiple sub-agents in parallel in isolated git worktrees\n* Writes/runs tests, fixes failures, and merges everything back into a **fully tested PR**\n\nSyntropy also joins your Slack to send updates right as tasks complete, and fully supports custom MCP integrations.\n\nWe’re lowering the burden of AI adoption, allowing teams to get away from the weeds of a coding terminal and focus on what actually matters: shipping great products, _fast_.  \n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post\u0026id=98446\u0026key=user_uploads/3146534/d5343c41-8ad6-4bd8-9db7-c9eadf866aab)\n\n**Our ask**\n\nWe’re onboarding teams shipping real features in real repos. If you’re interested in enterprise partnerships, just shoot us an email!\n\n**Co-Founders**\n\nWe’re Stanford CS (BS/MS) students, who bring a background from AI research in both academia and industry – at Apple (Vision Pro R\u0026D), AWS (fintech and ML infra), and Accenture. We’ve experienced first-hand how existing LLM-based developer tools collapse under real-world complexity (think 10k+ line codebases with internal APIs and multiple service integrations), leaving the engineer with a mountain of AI slop, and so we decided to build the truly autonomous coding agent we wish we had.\n\n\u003chttps://youtu.be/ZJf2W9YiQb0\u003e","slug":"Pbq-syntropy-the-agentic-coding-app-for-complex-tasks","created_at":"2026-03-04T16:13:21.394Z","updated_at":"2026-05-07T00:29:12.599Z","total_vote_count":8,"url":"https://www.ycombinator.com/launches/Pbq-syntropy-the-agentic-coding-app-for-complex-tasks","share_image_url":"//bookface-static.ycombinator.com/assets/ycdc/yc-og-image-c440a0ad1dacfb86eeeb343717479cc54d256614449b4ef719977a0a451f8bc8.png","company":{"id":31082,"name":"Syntropy","slug":"syntropy","url":"https://syntropy.io","logo":"https://bookface-images.s3.amazonaws.com/small_logos/e19b35070e7d07faf76c0c63ed399bd1286b5daf.png","batch":"Winter 2026","industry":"B2B","tags":[],"search_path":"https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/31082"}}
