Founding Sales and Growth Marketing Lead
About the role
We are looking to bring on an exceptional founding sales and marketing team member to help us in our mission to revolutionize the way small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) operate through AI. Thing are moving fast at Avoca as we're growing revenue by over 35% every month and rapidly expanding our core product and platform every week based on customer feedback.
What we’re looking for:
- An action-oriented leader with a track record of building out scalable 0-1 distribution in the world of SMBs
- A dynamic Swiss Army Knife that has a range of skillsets in the bag (cold calling, boots on the ground tactics, content marketing, SEO optimization, social media marketing, ad campaigns)
- Self-directed, high ownership, passionate; desire to work on a fast-paced, intense, fun team.
- Excited to be our first sales & marketing hire; ambition to build a world-class team
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, ruthlessly prioritize, have high-degree of customer empathy, and have the mental fortitude of being able to overcome any obstacle.
About Avoca
Avoca (YC W23) is building AI virtual receptionists for SMBs. Their initial product uses text and voice AI to enable SMBs to automatically answer customer phone calls, schedule bookings, and request reviews 24x7. Their vision is to build the entire pipeline for communication across a customer's lifecycle for SMBs so that owners can focus on their core business.
The founders are two MIT engineers with a background in building AI first products: Apurva Shrivastava, a 2nd time AI founder who was an engineer at Retool, and Tyson Chen, who was an early PM at Nuro and previously built chatbots for F500 companies at BCG.
Since officially launching just 2 months ago, the company has found tremendous traction with 3 customer verticals, just closed a seed round with some of the top seed investors in the valley, and are growing revenue 35% every month.
