About the role

FLOWER CO. is looking for a Director of Delivery Operations to lead strategic initiatives towards strengthening our efforts and ensuring long-term growth and sustainability. The Director is responsible for the overview, evaluation, and execution of inventory policies and procedures. This role will bring thought leadership and a strategic mindset toward discovering opportunities and identifying recommendations to improve performance for our expanding customer base. They will identify and leverage opportunities to use data to drive the biggest impact. The Director of Delivery Operations will lead with analytics, strategy, vision, and collaboration.

As the Director of Delivery Operations, you’ll lead your team in properly implementing company operational processes to ensure goals are being met and your team is successfully working together to drive results. You’ll utilize your excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask as you oversee all operational task management for each distribution depot, maximizing efficiency and implementing consistent standards which will allow FLOWER CO. to provide our customers with a world-class delivery experience.

The Director of Delivery Operations role is 25% remote, 50% in local facility and remainder traveling within California.

What you’ll do • Provide operational leadership in the strategic planning, development, and direction of FLOWER CO. locations • Understand how your team executes on delivery operations and help guide constant process improvement (e.g. driver / manager coverage models, routing, pick and pack approaches, cycle count management) • Know your team’s metrics and drive a metric driven management culture • Direct Delivery Operations in the implementation of strategic actions, maintaining consistent purpose and communication amongst your team in order to remove obstacles, improve responsiveness and enhance decision-making • Work closely with The CEO in setting goals, policies and procedures for the Delivery operations organization • Ensure all customer service quality goals are being met • Implement change initiatives designed to enhance individual and organizational knowledge and performance • Provide motivational and inspirational leadership to your Delivery Team, sustaining a culture passionate about the industry • Ensure that effective management practices are in place at all levels • Partner with General Managers to ensure adequate personnel coverage • Ensure all General Managers are aware of business priorities, focuses, and adjustments • Promote cross-functional collaboration and partnership amongst General Managers and Assistant Managers • Highlight opportunities for technology to streamline operations • Maintain awareness of building maintenance, loss prevention, security, and safety • Enable teams to understand patterns and connections so that they can make better business decisions • Determine what analysis to prioritize to have the biggest impact • Monitor baseline metrics and iterate on dashboards / reports • Ensure high quality and accurate data sets through custom data test

Who you are • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field • 5+ years’ experience in an Operations Leadership role utilizing data to generate meaningful insights for decision making and developing business intelligence solutions • Experienced working in fast-paced, high growth E-commerce or D2C startup environments • Structured analytical problem solver • Ability to provide business needs analysis and strategic planning to senior staff • Must have experience in supervising and managing departments to meet revenue and expense budgets • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to shifting demands & priorities • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative individual with the ability to work independently and amongst teams with keen judgement, commonsense and resourcefulness • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information • Must be results-driven, team-oriented, and dedicated to developing teams, individuals, and organizations • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, marketing, and public relations skills • Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite • Demonstrated ability to prioritize analysis on most important problems and not get distracted by smaller opportunities • Demonstrated learning agility, curiosity of data and information, and successful root cause analysis • Experience identifying and translating business issues into questions that can be answered with data • Direct understanding of Cannabis laws, rules, and regulations are not a necessity as long as you have an interest and passion to further your understanding and knowledge of the industry. • Coming from a consulting background (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) is definitely a plus!
