Hyper is looking for a backend developer to join us in building the world's largest avatar platform. Avatar tooling is unlocking an entire new form of storytelling called VTubing and Hyper is here to bring these tools to everyone. If you're interested in working on metaverse tools, interactive entertainment, or new forms of self expression in AR/VR we'd love to chat.

You should be well versed and able to rapidly prototype apps with a Python stack (Django Rest Framework / Celery / PostgreSQL). Professional experience doesn't matter too much, but speed of execution and quality of work do.

You will...

💻 Rapidly develop new features focused on avatar expression tools and contribute to the growth and infrastructure of the metaverse.

🛠️ Own responsibilities for the backend, from the development of new features, to deploying new services, and investigating the integration of new technologies.

📚 Triaging issues, alerts, warnings and managing our infrastructure as they arise for users and the team.

Qualifications

✍️ Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Django Rest Framework or evidence of equivalent experience through public personal projects.

👁️ You should have experience with our infrastructure stack and be familiar with rapid development and deployment of services: Django Rest Framework, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL, AWS.

🗂️ A public online portfolio showcasing your projects.

📝 Exceptional written communication skills. Our team is fully remote, with several members based in California, making written communication a must.
